Beards have survived millions of years of human evolution and were here long before the razor. One might ask why beards have survived the enormous evolution of the human body and brain. The answer is very simple, because beards are awesome!
Its true that in the past few years the sight of bearded men has become more common than before. Clearly though, we have moved past the stage where you would call this as a trend, you would just describe it as common practice. It is a far cry from the previously ‘non-bearded’ ideal that defined a good looking man in most parts of the western world in the eighties and nineties - driven primarily by advertising agencies and shaving brands!
Don't get me wrong, there will be guys who will shave their beards as soon as some magazine or social media icon claims that beards are no longer trendy. But I feel a bit sorry for these guys if that is their only reason for shaving. This is not what bearding is about. Would you just want to follow every trend that exists? Not much of an existence!
I grew my beard out for one reason only, to see if I could do it. I've now been fully bearded for almost a year and it is most definitely here to stay.
A final thought, there are plenty of memes on the WWW and one of my favourites is "I didn’t choose the beard life, the beard chose me life". Was this because of a trend? I really don’t know. What I do know is that my beard stays because I like it, it makes me feel awesome and its driven me down the path of starting my own company!
So let us all stop referring to beards as a trend and just let the bearded be bearded!
We have a new product launch.....*DRUM ROLL* Wonder Balm!
Its the first product we have produced thats not for Beards!
This is specifically for minor skin conditions, especially great for our hands in these conditions where we are constantly washing with soaps and washes that don’t do our hands any favours.
A very popular question that I often get is, “What is the difference between beard balm and beard oil?”
You’ll notice that most beard companies offer both. So, do you need both of them? And, what makes them an important piece in your grooming kit?
